So, I don't know if anyone else here is a fan of a band called red, but if you've never heard of them, you should definitely check them out. Their fourth album is scheduled to be released on february 5, 2013...
It's about freakin time. Now if only I got some similar news on Bullet For my Valentine or Sick Puppies, who are also taking ridiculously long to release new material, I'd be really happy.
nice! I also agree with the bullet for my valentine and sick puppies comment, paramore's doing the same.
lol. I like red though
Beware! Red have dumped the man behind their sound, the incomparable Rob Graves. Howard Benson will be the one producing it. We can only hope the symphonic aspects and such will remain.
I'm a bit worried about that change myself... Rob graves is a solid producer!!! Lets hope that they can do as well with the new one...
I hope so too. On the other hand, a fresh sound might not be so bad for them.
On a related note, since I brought up Bullet For my Valentine before, I did hear a new single from them, finally! I believe they said the new album will probably be released in either March or April 2013. If you want to look up the song, it's called Temper Temper. It's ok, but honestly not what I was expecting. then again, I don't put much stock in singles, particularly first singles. The album tracks are usually way better.
So, the album, Release the Panic, is out! What do you all think of it?
I have mixed feelings. It's solid, don't get me wrong, but the heavier style doesn't work so much for them, at least not for the majority of the album. I could see it if it was just a few tracks, even the tracks that were going to be released on the radio. But all the orchestral elements seem to have been dropped, which is a real shame. That's what made their music particularly moving.
I feel that red made a big mistake dropping Rob graves from the producing lineup... They had a great sound going for them, and I feel that they should have kept it going...
Yeah, you're right. I was skeptical at first, thinking maybe a fresh sound wouldn't be to their detriment, but you and others saw that coming, sadly.
I would be with you all the way, and was, until I actually heard the album. The only reason I really like it is because I do like the Howard Benson formula, and I like it a lot. This is not a prototipical Red album though, and I do miss that old style.
